ABOUT LISA

Professional Background

I have 20 years of experience as a unique and innovative art director, graphic designer, illustrator and book designer and publisher. Over the years, I have learned many facets of the design, development and production process, working closely with clients, stock photographers, print vendors as well a variety of writers, editors and illustrators. In addition to my design business skills I have considerable computer experience using the latest versions of graphic design tools including: InDesign, Quark® Express, Microsoft® Word, Aldus® Freehand, Adobe®Illustrator and Adobe® Photoshop.

Along with my computer talents, I also enjoy creating fine art pieces. With my inspirational subjects of people, animals, landscapes and/or seascapes I use acrylic paints, colored pencils or watercolors to create visually stunning master pieces for clients' gifts, homes and offices.

As a book designer and publisher I can make your writings/manuscripts come to life. I work in unison with clients, writers and editors to design, typeset and illustrate your manuscript into book format which is ready for the printer.

In addition, I design and produce visual marketing materials such as brochures, logos, business cards, posters, flyers, newsletters, CD packaging, advertisements, and direct mailers "and more..."

Personal Background

I grew up in a small coastal town in New England. There, I was inspired by the seacoast, oceanside, and landscapes. I've been an artist, creating and designing since childhood. As a child, I was usually found doodling and painting. And if white paper, brushes and pencils weren't available, I would take cartons and cylinders, ribbons, string and beads to create merry-go-rounds that spun, musical instruments that played and glittery fashionable jewelry that was worn by many. Much of myself was reflected in my work, which came from my heart.

I attended Keene State College where I earned a B.A. in art/education. From there I had numerous creative jobs from silk screening and hand-painted clothing to hand-painted posters that were displayed on busy city streets. I then found an extremely creative job at an educational publishing company as a designer and illustrator. For the next 18 years I learned many aspects of the publishing world. I worked with a team of designers, editors, product developers, sales and marketing staff as well as outside illustrators, stock photography and printing vendors. These many years of different experiences have given me the freedom to learn, grow develop, and flourish as an art director, artist, designer, and illustrator.

TESTIMONIALS

Lisa designed 3 online advertisements for my website to be placed in an online magazine. The results of her work were immediate and impressive. Within the first week that the ads came out, my website received twice the hits it had received from the first 2 months since my website launched. The ads were obviously eye-catching and captivating to my potential customers. She definitely understood what my business is about and how to grab my customers’ attention. A great and valuable business investment!

I have commissioned Lisa on several occasions for fine art and marketing pieces. She is a master. Her talents as an artist are superb. She has produced three fine art pieces for me, including a pencil drawing, a colored pencil drawing and an acrylic fine art painting. She was also responsible for all artwork, including the design and packaging of my recent music CD project. Her attention to detail is unsurpassed. Lisa is now working with me on a book publishing project.

The old saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover" is not true! People, especially children, gravitate to books with intriguing covers. Lisa Greenleaf not only set up my text in a clear and easy-to-read format, she also created a stunning, colorful cover for my most recent work. The book begs to be picked up. And, a book in hand is often a book sold! Thanks, Lisa!
